Jane Harrigan is an Emeritus Professor of Economics at the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. She is the author of nine academic books on the political economy of Africa and the Middle East. She is also a poet and a novelist. Her poetry has been published in various anthologies. The Unravelling is her debut novel. She lives on the Isle of Wight, where she was born and brought up, with her partner Gill. In addition to living in the UK she has lived in India, America and Malawi and has travelled extensively for both work and pleasure.
