Alan Davies covers all the steps in the process: dis-assembly; the need (or not) for sand-blasting; the repair of light damage to the tinwork; filling, sanding and stopping; priming and finishing. He shows the simple aids he uses so that wheels and other heavy items can be handled and worked on easily. He indicates how the separate parts of the project - chassis, wheels, tinwork - should be approached differently. We see two machines undergoing restoration - an agricultural and an industrial, both Massey Fergusons. This allows Alan to demonstrate different techniques. He also indicates where a little expenditure will save an enormous amount of work and shows how to keep costs under control. Throughout the programme Alan stresses health and safety and environmental concerns, showing best practice in all aspects. He includes useful fault-finding guides.
