Being sincere in our drive for continued improvement, we have to accept that we don’t learn from a standing still position, and that we are limited by our own knowledge and the fear of nudging or perhaps even poking the bear. This book is timely, thought provoking and will without doubt press some buttons, but without debate there is no movement, and without movement there is no progress, and so without progress there is no improvement.

Diving deep into the realm of workplace health and safety, this book provides an objective, evidence-based analysis. It calls upon industries to acknowledge the hidden truths, streamline complexities, and foster a culture of simplicity for a healthier and safer working environment.

Where Next for Health and Safety? is an interesting book, one that does a good job of looking at how the profession got to where it is and what we should do to go forward. On the whole, I found myself nodding along and mentally underlining passages. I am very glad to have the opportunity to read this and it will be a treasured volume on my shelf...I certainly enjoyed reading the book and, most importantly, it made me think and research some of the topics more. For this reason alone, it belongs on my bookshelf and a well-thumbed copy should be on the bookshelf of every practitioner. After all, who else is asking Where Next for Health and Safety?
