This seventh edition has been revised with new photos, updated technical and local information, and covers 60 miles of navigable waterways, including the tidal section to Kings Lynn and gems such as the Cambridge Backs World Heritage site. This guide has been written and updated by Chris Howes, Deputy National Chairman, Eastern Region Chairman and past Peterborough Branch Chairman of the Inland Waterways Association. Chris has spent much of his life living on or near the River Great Ouse and is a knowledgeable enthusiast for the area. His navigation notes are the result of his most recent on-the-water research, enriched with supplementary narrative and photographs highlighting numerous points of interest. With user-friendly design and layout, information on moorings, facilities and services is enhanced with quick reference tables alongside the plans. For anyone planning to explore these waterways, this is your invaluable, don't-leave-home-without-it guide.

"CHRIS HOWES is the IWA representative for the Eastern Region and has represented IWA at almost every level from branch chairman to trustee. He is also a member of the Middle Level Navigation Committee. Chris has halcyon memories of growing up at his grandparent's watermill in Oxfordshire on the river Windrush. He has spent most of his life near, and sometimes unintentionally in, water, a canoeist, rower, and outdoor skater, he is the proud owner of narrowboat 'Lily May'. "I travel widely across the system and most seasons manage getting on for 1,000 locks !" Chris explained "however the fast flowing clear rivers of the East of England will always remain my home waters". Chris is a writer and photographer and is the author of the Imray guides "Fenland Waters" and "The Great Ouse and its Tributaries", which he proudly describes as "boaters guides written for boaters, by a boater". Chris regularly provides on-line updates to these guides as well as blogging regularly for Fox Narrowboats. Chris is always pleased to learn of anything new, or any changes planned for the Eastern Region."
