Dr Nguyen Hoang Long is currently an associate professor and the rector of the University of Transport Technology, Hanoi, Vietnam. He received Ph.D. degree in Construction of Highways and Airports from the Le Quy Don University, Hanoi, Vietnam. His research focuses on construction materials, especially about pavement’s materials. He is also working on the development and application of artificial intelligence in prediction of properties of construction materials as well as in evaluation of pavement’s quality. So far, he has leaded and completed 08 projects funded by Ministry of Transport (Vietnam), and currently leading 01 national project. He has a lot of publications published in prestige journals including 09 papers published in SCIE and SCI journals.
João Manuel R. S. Tavares graduated in Mechanical Engineering at the Universidade do Porto, Portugal in 1992. He also earned his M.Sc. degree and Ph.D. degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Universidade do Porto in 1995 and 2001, and attained his Habilitation in Mechanical Engineering in 2015 from the same University. He is a senior researcher at the Instituto de Ciência e Inovação em Engenharia Mecânica e Engenharia Industrial (INEGI) and a Full Professor at the Department of Mechanical Engineering (DEMec) of the Faculdade de Engenharia da Universidade do Porto (FEUP). He has been the Head of DEMec since June 2023.
João Tavares is co-editor of more than 80 books, co-author of more than 50 book chapters, 650 articles in international and national journals and conferences, and 3 international and 3 national patents. He has been a committee member of several international and national journals and conferences, is co-founder and co-editor of the book series “Lecture Notes in Computational Vision and Biomechanics” published by Springer, founder and Editor-in-Chief of the journal “Computer Methods in Biomechanics and Biomedical Engineering: Imaging & Visualization” published by Taylor & Francis, Editor-in-Chief of the journal “Computer Methods in Biomechanics and Biomedical Engineering” published by Taylor & Francis, and co-founder and co-chair of the international conference series: International Symposium on Computational Modeling of Objects Presented in Images, ECCOMAS Thematic Conference on Computational Vision and Medical Image Processing, International Conference on Computational and Experimental Biomedical Sciences and International Conference on Biodental Engineering. Additionally, he has been (co-)supervisor of several MSc and PhD theses and supervisor of several post-doc projects and has participated in many scientific projects both as a researcher and as scientific coordinator.
His main research areas include computational vision, medical imaging, biomechanics, biomedical engineering, and new product development.
Dr. Souvik Pal is an associate professor, Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Sister Nivedita University (Techno India Group), Kolkata, India. Prior to that, he was associated with Brainware University, Kolkata, India; JIS College of Engineering, Nadia; Elitte College of Engineering, Kolkata; and Nalanda Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar, India. Dr. Pal received his B. Tech, M. Tech, and Ph.D. degrees in the field of Computer Science and Engineering. He has more than a decade of academic experience. He is author or co-editor of 14 books from reputed publishers, including Elsevier, Springer, CRC Press, and Wiley.
Dr Le Hoang Son obtained the Ph.D. degree on Mathematics—Informatics at VNU University of Science, Vietnam National University (VNU) in conjunction with the Politecnico di Milano University, Italy in 2013. He has been promoted to an associate professor in Information Technology in Vietnam since 2017. Dr. Son worked as a senior researcher and vice director at the Center for High Performance Computing, VNU University of Science, Vietnam National University during 2007–2018. Currently, he is a vice director of VNU Information Technology Institute, VNU. His main research areas include Soft Computing Foundation, Knowledge-Based Systems, Integrated Machine Learning for Multimedia Intelligence, Multi-modal & environmental AI, with an interest in applications in Healthcare and Telecommunications networks.
Dr Binh Thai Pham is a researcher, lecturer, vice head of Science, Technology and International Corporation Department at University of Transport Technology, Hanoi, Vietnam. He has also been appointed as a special assistant professor at Hiroshima University, Japan (2019 - 2023). He received Ph.D. degree in Civil Engineering from the Gujarat Technological University, Gujarat, India. His research focuses on natural hazard modelling and assessment, machine learning, artificial intelligence, geographic informatic system, remote sensing, geotechnical engineering problems, and construction materials.
