This book provides a comprehensive and timely report in the area of non-additive measures and integrals. It is based on a panel session on fuzzy measures, fuzzy integrals and aggregation operators held during the 9th International Conference on Modeling Decisions for Artificial Intelligence (MDAI 2012) in Girona, Spain, November 21-23, 2012. The book complements the MDAI 2012 proceedings book, published in Lecture Notes in Computer Science (LNCS) in 2012. The individual chapters, written by key researchers in the field, cover fundamental concepts and important definitions (e.g. the Sugeno integral, definition of entropy for non-additive measures) as well some important applications (e.g. to economics and game theory) of non-additive measures and integrals. The book addresses students, researchers and practitioners working at the forefront of their field.

Vincent Torra is currently Associate Professor - Research Track at IIIA-CSIC, Campus UAB, Catalonia. He is President of the Catalan Association for Artificial Intelligence (ACIA) and a busy conference organizers. He initiated the successful conference series Modeling Decisions for Artificial Intelligence (MDAI) in 2004. His research focuses on information fusion and integration, privacy preserving data mining (PPDM), statistical disclosure control (SDC) and security, information retrieval, clustering and approximate reasoning. He has written and edited many books as well as more than 100 papers.

Yasuo Narukawa is currently affiliated with the TOHO GAKUEN Institute. He received his PhD in Systems Science (under the supervision of Michio Sugeno and Toshiaki Murofushi) from Tokyo Institute of Technology in March 1998. He has authored and edited more than 50 publications and he is involved in the organization of the conference series Modeling Decisions for Artificial Intelligence (MDAI).

Michio Sugeno is currently Emeritus Researcher at European Centre for Soft Computing. He obtained the B. S. degree in physics from the University of Tokyo, Japan, the Dr. Eng. degree from Tokyo Institute of Technology, Japan and the Honorary Doctorate from Polytechnic University of Madrid, Spain, in 1962, 1975, and 1998, respectively. He has received a number of awards including a Lifetime Achievement Award in Soft Computing, World Automatic Congress (1988) and an Outstanding Achievement Award, International Fuzzy Systems Association (2003). He is the first recipient of an IEEE
Pioneer Award in Fuzzy Systems with Lotfi Zadeh in 2000 and he received the 2010 IEEE Frank Rosenblatt Award in July, 2010.
