Father Michael, an Irish Catholic priest, lies ill with fever in a remote monastery in Brittany, frail and unwell from years of missionary work. A young local doctor is called and through his feverish mist he sees Dr Florence for the first time. She helps him on the road to recovery both physically and mentally. They develop a friendship which takes them on an unexpected journey of mystery and intrigue as they investigate paranormal happenings in the suburbs of Birmingham. Their discovery of the unexplained changes their lives forever.
