Joseph Coelho, the new Children's Laureate, is a performance poet and playwright. His first solo poetry collection, Werewolf Club Rules, won the CLPE Poetry Award 2015. He performs his poetry shows with the UK’s top performance poetry organisation, Apples and Snakes, throughout the UK. Joseph’s poems have also appeared in many anthologies, including Green Glass Beads, compiled by Jacqueline Wilson.

Matt Robertson is an award-winning illustrator whose characterful illustrations have delighted readers. Shortlisted for the Waterstones Book Prize 2017, his work includes the hilarious picture book, Super Stan, and the adventurous Shelby Holmes: Girl Detective. Matt studied illustration at Cambridge School of Art, and has worked with Bloomsbury, Egmont, HarperCollins, amongst others. Winner of the Lara Jones Award (2014), he's often found in his studio in Norwich.
