Erika McGann grew up in Drogheda, County Louth, and now lives in Dublin. She is the author of many books including The Demon Notebook (winner of the Waverton Good Read Children’s Award), the ‘Cass and the Bubble Street Gang’ series and Tabitha Plimtock and the Edge of the World. Her picture books include the Where Are You, Puffling? stories (illustrated by Gerry Daly) and Standing On One Leg Is Hard and What is a Peachick? (illustrated by Clive McFarland). GERRY DALY is a children’s author and illustrator living by the beautiful sea in Dublin. He hasn’t seen any whales from his window, but saw many off the coast of West Cork. His previous books include the best-selling Where Are You, Puffling? and Wee Donkey’s Treasure Hunt, both written by Erika McGann and also published by The O’Brien Press. <p>a shortened, toddler friendly version of the original ‘Where are You Puffling?’ story set on Skellig Michael. This board book version is colourful, engaging and ideal for toddlers. The quality of the board is very durable and Gerry Daly’s illustrations will really capture a toddler’s attention. There are opportunities for readers to play ‘spot the puffling’ throughout the book with their young audience. The board book version is great to give to our youngest to handle when we are reading the original with her older brother. Before getting this book, she was constantly trying to turn the pages mid-sentence!! The size of the book is easy for her to grasp, and she enjoy trying to spot puffling on her own book.</p>

<p>a new toddler-friendly edition … The story of the little puffling who gets lost on Skellig Michael is adapted and shortened for younger readers, but the charm of the original is retained, as the puffin parents scour the island in search of their offspring. A seal, a gannet, and a rabbit have all seen the puffling and point the parents on the right path around the skellig, but the fluffy black chick seems to have disappeared. Their search makes for a hide-and-seek of sorts through some of Ireland’s most dramatic scenery, with the resident wildlife saving the day and ensuring a happy ending for the puffling and her parents</p>
