Yasmeen Ismail is an award-winning illustrator with a love of inks, paints and watercolours. Her debut picture book Time for Bed, Fred! won The New York Times' Best Illustrated Book Award and the V&A Best Illustrated Book Award, and her previous books for Walker include the Kiki & Bobo series and Would You Like a Banana?The poems are fantastic because they share the world of a 4-year-old. They also beautifully demonstrate how our reflections can be poetry. Yasmeen Ismailâs illustrations are wonderful, evocative, fun and colourful.

I was blown away by these poems by Nadim... They deal with all kinds of subjects and emotions dear to this young childâs heart, from having to leave his old teacher, Miss Angela, to being on a train, and what coming home feels like⌠Itâs a pleasure to read and the illustrations by Irish artist Yasmeen Ismail capture the joy and wonder of childhood perfectly. A real gem.
