I absolutely love Nixie, a funny little fairy with attitude. This is a stylishly told, delightful story for girls just starting to tackle chapter books - or a brilliant bedtime story to be read aloud.

A disaster with a wand, but for mischief she's magic!
A fairy series with a difference. Promoting a go-getting and practical approach to life while at the same time offering all the enchantment and magic that fairy fans love. Nixie the bad, bad fairy is tough, smart, and practical, but most importantly lovable! This modern fairy story is beautifully illustrated throughout by the talented Ali Pye. A refreshingly fun look at the world of fairies, who are not all goody-goodies, but are actually a little bit mischievous at times! Perfect for fans of the Rainbow Magic series. A funny fairy story that captures all of the wonder and excitement of a snowy day.

Cas spent many years having a fabulous time, and a great deal of fun, working in children's television drama with CBBC. She made lots of award winning programmes like: The Story of Tracy Beaker, Jackanory: Muddle Earth and the Magician of Samarkand, Big Kids, and Kerching! Now she's having a fabulous time, and a great deal of fun writing books for children and mucking about with her family. She's also author of the Harvey Drew books, comedy adventures about space trash, published by Hot Key Books. She's Patron of Reading at a local primary school and does lots of school visits and festivals, which she loves. Cas has four children and lives in Oxfordshire with her family, some chickens, a couple of cats and a daft dog called Bramble. Nixie is based on her tomboy daughter who liked to wear her fairy costume with wellington boots and a green plastic army hat. It was a great look. Ali discovered that she didn't much like fashion but really loved London and has lived there ever since. After college Ali faffed around for a decade, had children and then finally got around to doing what she should have done all along, which was to study illustration. While taking an MA in illustration at Kingston University Ali was commissioned to illustrate her first picture book, Where is Fred? by Edward Hardy. She has since illustrated stories for publishers including Oxford University Press, Campbell Books, Egmont, Nosy Crow, Orchard Books, HarperCollins and Stripes. Ali lives in Twickenham with her husband, children and two very shy guinea pigs.
