Lucy's mum wakes up thinking she's twelve years old – how will Lucy cope with her mother?

Lucy can't believe her mum is so strict and overprotective that she won't even let her go to the Valentine's Ball! She's practically mouldy and out of date. Lucy can't imagine her mum ever being young herself. . . until one morning, her mum wakes up with no memory of the last thirty years.

Suddenly, Lucy's mum thinks she's twelve years old again! While Lucy wishes her mum would go back to her old self, she's about to discover a whole new side to her mother. Mumnesia by Katie Dale is a hilarious and heartwarming story about an unusual mother-daughter relationship that will resonate with girls everywhere. Perfect as a Mother's Day gift, this funny tale takes a nostalgic trip back to the 1980s as Lucy tries to help her mum regain her memories. A charming exploration of family, growing up, and the unbreakable bond between mothers and daughters.

Katie Dale had her first poem, 'The Fate of The School Hamster', published in the Cadbury's Book of Children's Poetry aged just eight and hasn't stopped writing since! Inspired by her mother, Elizabeth Dale, who is also an author, Katie loves creating characters, both on the page and onstage. After training as an actress and touring the country as Shakespeare's Juliet, she was a winner of the SCBWI Undiscovered Voices competition, which launched her writing career. She has published books for toddlers up to teens, and her novels have won several awards and are published all over the world. Mumnesia is her first novel for Macmillan Children's Books.
