Gabby Dawnay is an experienced children’s writer, screenwriter & occasional illustrator. Her picture books include A Possum's Tail (nominated for the CILIP Kate Greenaway Medal), London Calls, and the popular If I Had... series. Gabby has written for children's animated shows such as Postman Pat and Messy Goes to Okido, and has been the 'poet-in-residence' for the children’s art and science magazine OKIDO since 2007. Alex Barrow grew up in the suburbs of London to Filipino and English parents before moving to South London to study illustration at Central Saint Martins. Today, Alex is a regular contributor and an Art Director for popular science and arts themed children's magazine OKIDO magazine. His first book for children, A Possum's Tail, was published in 2014 and was soon nominated for the 2015 Cilip Kate Greenaway Medal. In collaboration with acclaimed writer and poet Gabby Dawnay, Alex regularly runs workshops in schools and festivals for kids based around their books, illustration and magazine work. Their award-winning books have been read on CBeebies Bedtime Stories by actors Eddie Redmayne and David Schwimmer.
