Anthony McGowan is the author of many critically acclaimed YA novels including Hellbent, Henry Tumour and The Knife that Killed Me. His Barrington Stoke titles include the Carnegie Medal shortlisted Rook and the 2020 Carnegie Medal winner Lark which the judges described as "a standalone masterpiece".

Chris Riddell is an award-winning artist, illustrator, and occasional writer of children’s books. His own fiction, namely the Ottoline and Goth Girl series, were a great success, with Chris winning three Nestlé Smarties Book prizes. Chris was appointed the UK Children’s Laureate in 2015, a role which he used to promote the joy of drawing, doodling and telling stories. Chris has also collaborated with a many prominent authors including Paul Stewart on the best-selling fantasy series, The Edge Chronicles; and former Children’s Laureate Michael Rosen on A Great Big Cuddle: Poems for the Very Young. Chris lives in Brighton and works as a political cartoonist for The Observer.
