Wonderfully warm, Tim’s tale of love, loss and memories is presented with tenderness and sensitivity in both words and pictures. This is a book to share with Grandpas, as well as to enjoy both with family members and in the KS1 classroom.

Red Reading Hub

The exuberant energy and enthusiasm of Grandpa Martin as he strides across the book cover and earlier pages is visceral. The special beach hut is painted ‘a bright vivid, sunshine yellow‘, a colour palette that shines through.

The Letterpress Project

This is a heart-warming and ultimately uplifting story touching on some deep themes for young children. […] It’s about trying to remember all the reasons we have to be happy and enjoying the moment. A moving and powerful book.
