Peter Martin (Author) Peter Martin is an author who has developed a wide knowledge of Biblicalhistory during his many years working in religious education. His yearsas a parent as well as a teacher provide him with the perfect expertiseto reach young readers. Simona Bursi (Illustrator) Simona Bursi has a diploma from the Istituto d'Arte di Urbino, where shehas studied applied arts and animated film. She has also done an illustration course directed by illustrator Giacinto Gaudenzi. Simona has worked in the cartoon industry, but since 2008 has been a freelance illustrator.

They tell of courageous men and deeds, retold in a contemporary voice that is easy to relate to. The stories are prefaced with a short introduction encouraging the reader to think about the message contained in each; at the back of the book there is a section that sets the stories in context and shows where to find them in the Bible. The illustrations are sophisticated with a classical feel, but have been given a modern edge.
