A bear is a bear, except when he's not. What would he be, if a bear FORGOT?Poor bear! He's all confused. Is he a bird? A moose? A fox? Or maybe even a . . . squirrel? And now winter is coming . . . perhaps Bear should curl up tight and settle down for a long, long sleep. He might remember who he is in the spring!A funny, rhyming romp about an adorably baffled bear with an identity crisis! Little ones will love joining in with repeated phrases and picking their favourite animals, whether it's a dancing fox or a cute red squirrel. Sharing this picture book with a little one is a great way to introduce them to seasons and the concept of hibernation. It has a sleepy theme that's brilliant for bedtime, too! This young, fun story from Karl Newson, who has been shortlisted for the Sainsbury's Children's Book Award, is illustrated with warmth and humour by the talented Anuska Allepuz, who has been nominated for the Kate Greenaway Medal and shortlisted for the AOI Award.

Karl Newson (Author)
Karl Newson is a children's book author and illustrator from London. He takes inspiration from songs and books and people and everything! His favourite things are elephants, stars and his two mini Mudwafflers. His least favourite thing is mashed potato - bleurgh! In his spare time he enjoys walking and listening to music from the 1960s (and singing along - badly - to them), and biscuits.

Anuska Allepuz (Illustrator)
Anuska Allepuz grew up in Spain, where she studied Fine Arts at the University of Salamanca. She has enjoyed drawing and writing stories for as long as she can remember and her work is driven by a love of storytelling. In 2016, she graduated with distinction from the MA in Children's Book Illustration at the Cambridge School of Art. She likes exploring texture and using mixed media, handmade stamps and stencilled shapes.

Anuska has worked as a full-time illustrator with publishers in Spain, Mexico and Brazil, and her illustrations have been selected for exhibition at the Bologna Children's Book Fair, shortlisted for the AOI awards and Highly Commended in the Macmillan Prize. Some of her favourite things are drinking coffee with friends and playing chess.
