- 5* reader review,
I was gripped from the beginning by the War Artist which explores an area of the war that I knew nothing about beforehand. I found the character of Sybil endearing and quite inspirational in her bravery and determination. I loved the camaraderie between Sybil and the other women artists and her mentor, Dame Lily and felt that her loneliness, the not knowing where her husband Graeme was and her mixed feelings towards him were realistically and sympathetically described. Best of all though, was the on/off relationship with Iggy, which had me reading faster towards the end. More please
