Mandasue Heller was born in Cheshire and moved to Manchester in 1982. She spent ten years living in the notorious Hulme Crescents which have since become the background to her novels. The characters are believable, as is the plot and it's told at a pace that lets the story unfold without being too quick or too slow . . . a well written book that I found hard to put down once started.
