EAIR – The European Higher Education Society is an international association connecting scholars, practitioners, students, managers, and policymakers in higher education. This volume, part of the EAIR book series, features papers from the EAIR Forum 2024 at University College Cork, Ireland. It explores the role of higher education in addressing global challenges like climate change, resource depletion, and inequality. The chapters highlight the importance of integrating Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into curricula, research, and community programs. They focus on areas such as sustainable governance, teaching, research, quality culture, digitalization, and transnational cooperation for a sustainable future.

Jessica Nooij (PhD) is Associate Professor at the Centres of Expertise for Future-Proof-Education and for Perspective in Health of Avans University of Applied Sciences. Her current research focuses on transdiciplinary collaborations and Inner Development Goals (IDGs) in Higher Education.

Bruno Broucker (PhD) is Head of the Education Office of the Institute of Tropical Medicine (Antwerp, Belgium), Chair of EAIR and President-Elect of the Network for Education in International Health (tropEd). Bruno published internationally on higher education governance, policy and reform.

Anne Gannon (PhD) is Staff Wellbeing & Development Manager in University College Cork (UCC). Her main research interest is on the impact of Government Policy in the Irish University. She is a member of the EAIR Executive Committee and was on the organising committee for the 2024 Cork Forum.

Mark O’Hara (Prof) is a National Teaching Fellow and winner of the Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence. He has over 30 years’ experience in a variety of roles including Associate Dean and Associate PVC (Education). Mark is Vice-Chair of EAIR.

Silke Preymann (PhD) is head of the Master's programme in Human Resource Management and scientific head of the Diversity Management department at the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria. Her research focuses on change processes and organizational learning in higher education institutions, as well as leadership and leadership effectiveness.

Anna Santucci (PhD) is Associate Professor in Teaching & Learning Enhancement at University College Cork, Ireland. Her international collaborations and interests include intercultural teaching and learning, participatory arts pedagogies, trans-disciplinarity, and educational development for Higher Education transformation grounded in principles of love, hope, equity, justice, reflection, relational co-creation, and dialogue.
