JOHN CROSS has taught Analytical and Physical Chemistry at the University of Southern Queensland, Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia since 1969. Additionally, he is a member of the Chemical Hazards Emergency Management Unit of the Queensland State Government. The editor of Nonionic Surfactants: Chemical Analysis and the coeditor of Cationic Surfactants: Analytical and Biological Evaluation (both titles, Marcel Dekker, Inc.), Dr. Cross is a Fellow of the Royal Australian Chemical Institute and a member of the Australian Association of Science Communicators. He gained his technical qualifications (Higher National Certificate and Graduateship of the Royal Institute of Chemistry) from Kingston University (formerly, Kingston Polytechnic), Kingston upon Thames, United Kingdom. He received the M.Sc.
