Prof. Mika Sillanpää is the head of the laboratory of Green Chemistry at the Lappeenranta University of Technology. He has published over 400 articles in reputable journals and international conference proceedings. His publications have an h-index of 44 and have been cited over 7300 times. Prof. Sillanpää has received numerous awards for research and innovation. For example, he is the first Laureate of Scientific Committee on the Problems of the Environment (SCOPE)´s Young Investigator Award, which was delivered at the UNESCO Conference in Shanghai 2010 for his "significant contributions, outstanding achievements and research leadership in Environmental Technological Innovations to address present water pollution problems worldwide, especially with regard to wastewater treatment and reuse".Dr. Mohamed Chaker Ncibi is a project researcher in the laboratory of Green Chemistry at the Lappeenranta University of Technology (LUT, Finland). His research expertise in biomass valorization for advanced water treatment techniques and sustainable biofuel production systems resulted in more than 35 publications in peer-reviewed journals (h-index 13). He received his PhD in Environmental Engineering in 2008 from the University of Sousse (Tunisia). He worked as a visiting postdoctoral researcher in the Universities of Montpellier (UM2, France), Antilles and Guyane (UAG, Guadeloupe), Braunschweig (TU-BS, Germany). In 2013 Dr. Ncibi co-published a book in the Royal Society of Chemistry series of Green Chemistry entitled "Biomass for Sustainable Applications: Pollution Remediation and Energy".
