Roy Norris started his teaching career in 1984 in Selby, North Yorkshire, where he taught French and German in a comprehensive school for five years. At the end of the eighties he moved to Madrid and a career in ELT. Most of his time there has been spent working with International House, as teacher, teacher-trainer and at one point Cambridge Examinations Co-ordinator. Roy has written Ready for FCE (2001),Ready for CAE (2004) and Straightforward Advanced (2008), and co-written Direct to FCE (2011). Amanda French went to Greece and began her career in English language teaching. She started off as the dictation teacher for a class of eight-year-olds and left three years later - with the DTEFLA (Diploma in Teaching English as a Foreign Language to Adults). Amanda is a CELTA assessor and has written CAE, BEC and IELTS papers for Cambridge ESOL. She also wrote CAE Testbuilder and contributed to the Ready for CAE Workbook and KET Testbuilder.
