Next Move is written by very well-known and respected authors. Amanda Cant has taught children in France, Spain and Italy. In Italy, she was Director of Studies for Primary schools and liaised with local authorities during the period of introducing English in the primary sector. She then moved on to become a publishing consultant for Oxford University Press (OUP), Longman and John Brown Publishing. At that point Amanda took on a position at Heinemann as a primary editor and helped develop the well-known series, Bravo. After realizing that Amanda was more creative than just being a desk-bound editor, she made the leap to freelance ELT author, including over the past years, writing: YoYo (Macmillan), Bingo! (Longman), Eko And Friends (Longman), See Saw (Macmillan), and Cool Kids (OUP). In addition to writing English language teaching programs, Amanda has also written a methodology book for primary language classroom (Richmond Publishing), Readers for the EFL and UK state primary sectors and activities for the BBC website. After graduating from Oxford University with a degree in English Language and Literature, Mary Charrington went on to the School of Education at Bristol University where she gained a teaching degree in English and TEFL. Mary then taught English to children in various parts of the world, starting in Japan as part of the Japanese-British Government English Teaching Program. She further specialized in Teaching EFL to Young Learners at International House, Mataro, Spain. Teaching English to ever younger children encouraged Mary to start developing and writing her own materials. After five years commissioning and developing major primary courses at Heinemann ELT, Mary became freelance and has been writing English language materials for Latin America, Europe and the Far East for the past fifteen years. She is the co-author of various courses including Bingo/ Eko and Friends, Yoyo/Fun Time and Peekaboo, and has contributed to Jigsaw, Domino, Faces, M Tunes, Christmas Fun, New Chatterbox and New Sparks. Viv Lambert studied French, German and Linguistics at Reading University in the UK. She has an RSA Diploma in TEFL and teaching experience in Europe and South East Asia. After several years travelling and teaching English, she returned to the UK to work in the publishing industry. Viv worked in house editing and commissioning children’s books and Primary EFL materials at Nelson ELT, Dorling Kindersley and Longman ELT. She now works from her home near Oxford as a freelance editor and author specializing in Primary ELT materials. Viv is also involved in teacher training in Oxford. She has written or co-written various primary materials including Twist and Shout and Faces (Macmillan), Mighty Movers and Fantastic Flyers (Delta), Fun with English and Action Packs (Bilberry), Language Learner packs (Dorling Kindersley), Speaking Activities (Mary Glasgow), Enjoy Teaching English with Puffin Picture Books (Puffin), and Action English and First Steps in English (Ladybird).
