Alvin Levin (b. 1914, Paterson, NJ) studied at City College and Brooklyn Law School. Courted by The New Yorker, New Directions and others, Levin mysteriously disappeared. He died in 1982. JAMES REIDEL is a poet, translator, editor, and biographer. Pulitzer Prize–winning poet John Ashbery (1927—2017) translated many French writers, including Alfred Jarry, Pierre Reverdy, and Raymond Roussel. In 2011 he was awarded the National Book Foundation’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
