John P. O'Connell has been a member of FDNY for more than 24 years, and is currently assigned to Rescue Company No. 3. He is a New York State certified instructor, adjunct instructor for the New York State Academy of Fire Science, and certified instructor for the New York City Fire Department Division of Training, as well as an editorial advisory board member and contributing editor of Fire Engineering magazine.
