This book represents a very interesting and in-depth account of recent constitutional developments in Europe and is particularly commendable to anyone interested in the comparative aspects of the commonlaw versus the continental law tradition, in the tension between national sovereignty and further European integration and in Central and Eastern European studies.
Times Higher Education Supplement
Offers not only informative treatments of law and politics in particular countries and the European Union, it also suggests promising approaches to reconceptualizing constitutional democracy in light of the changing nature of the state. Unfortunately, due to space considerations, my review cannot convey much of the richness of the various contributions ... In combining scope of coverage with attention to detail ... the volume is suitable for use in courses in comparative law, such as comparative legal systems.
