Alan M. Taylor holds a PhD from Purdue University, USA, and is a professor of French and section head at Brigham Young University-Idaho, USA. He has taught French language and literature for 28 years at Purdue University, The Rochester Institute of Technology and Brigham Young University-Idaho, USA. He has published over 20 articles and book chapters and has reviewed articles for multiple publications for 20 years. He has conducted seven quantitative meta-analyses on second language (L2) reading, mostly on the effects of glossing on L2 reading. He conducted the first meta-analysis on L2 reading as a dissertation in 2002 and the first meta-analysis on L2 reading ever published in a journal in 2006.
