Since 1994 Paul Nicklen has published in magazines around the world, including seven stories for National Geographic. His most recent Geographic stories are on Leopard Seals, Narwhal, and the Arctic Ice Edge. Nicklen grew up in Baffin Island, Nunavut, Canada, a child of one of the only non- Inuit families in a small settlement of 140 Inuit. The Inuit taught him to read the weather and survive in the Arctic.
