Instead of accepting a premise that flourishing is merely a theoretical and archaic concept, The Value of Work: Interdisciplinary Perspectives demonstrates it is still possible to thrive at work. From the European Union's Higher Education Policy to creativity in the workplace, this volume rewards the reader with a variety of cross-cultural insights from authors who are passionate about the importance of work in the quality of human life. Whilst this volume illustrates the possibility that work creates a true sense of self-value, thus lending evidence to support the concept of work being more than just the means to a monetary end, negative factors such as stressful working conditions leading to physical and mental health issues are investigated as real and significant concerns.
