Alexander M. Bielakowski has a PhD from Kansas State University. He has written numerous articles on military history, and has a special interest in inter-war cavalry. In 2000 he was awarded a West Point Fellowship in Military History. Alexander is currently Assistant Professor of History at the University of Findlay, Ohio. Raffaele Ruggeri was born in 1964 in Bologna where he still lives and works. After studying at the Fine Arts Academy he worked in several areas of graphics and design before deciding to devote himself to illustration. He has long been interested in military history and has illustrated a number of books for Osprey including MAA 269 'The Ottoman Army 1914-18', and MAA 309 'The Italian Invasion of Abyssinia 1935-36.'
