The Forum for the History of Knowledge is a multi- and interdisciplinary research project at NTNU which analyses and interprets different forms of knowledge (theoretical knowledge, science, belief and myths, practical skills and knowledge, and knowledge of the fine arts). The project aims at developing a new understanding of cultures of knowledge; how these cultures originate, how and why they are maintained and what their specific characteristics are. Both past and present cultures are research themes in the project. The Forum provides a meeting point for interdisciplinary research and disciplines dealing with questions about creation, publication and use of knowledge, the role of knowledge in society and different conditions for knowledge in time on a local, national and global level.
