Michael Palmer is Emeritus Professor of the Sorbonne University, Paris. He is the author and co-author of 14 books and 160 academic articles. Previously a journalist, most of his work has centered on the history and present of the media in France, Britain, the US and elsewhere.
Using material dating from up to 5,000 years ago, but concentrating on the past 200 years, this book studies messengers and newsmen, focusing on news agency journalists.
