Simon Dubnow's "Jewish History for Children" comprises the entire history of the Jewish people from its beginnings and up to the 1930s and is now available for the first time in German.Simon Dubnow was one of the most important historians of Jewish history. That he also wrote a volume specially for children, to impart to them a national and secular Jewish identity, is less well known. In his volume "Jewish History for Children" from 1931 he addressed not only children, but interested adults as well. This volume provides insight into the historical writing that took occurred before the Holocaust as well as revealing Dubnow's understanding of history as laid out in his famous "World History of the Jewish People".
