Hermann Schmitz, born 1928 in Leipzig, was Professor of Philosophy in Kiel from 1971 to 1993. He is the founder of New Phenomonology and has published over 50 books concerning different topics of philosophy. Worth mentioning, at the very least, is System der Philosophie (10 voll., Bonn 1964-80). His last two books are: Zur Epigenese der Person (Freiburg/München 2017) and Wozu philosophieren? (Freiburg/München 2018). Tonino Griffero is professor of Aesthetics (Un. of Rome "Tor Vergata") and is the editor in charge of the Mimesis series "Atmospheric Spaces". His most recent books are: Atmospheres. Aesthetics of Emotional Spaces (Routledge 2014), Quasi-Things. The Paradigm of Atmospheres (Suny 2017), Places, Affordances, Atmospheres. A Pathic Aesthetics (Routledge 2019).
