'What a tour. What a story. Great rugby players and tough, tough men.' Martin Johnson; 'The Indomitables were an example to all of us and set the standards for everyone who followed them.' Billy Boston; 'Australians admire the best in sport, and The Indomitables showed they were the very best.' Pat Devery; 'The 1946 Indomitables Tour was the stuff of legend, and this brilliant book brings the tour to life in a way that's never been done before. Sports history at its very best.' Jim Mills; 'If you want to know why I and so many other league players wanted, more than anything, to be selected for an Ashes tour - then read this book. It's a sensational story of the greatest team that created the tradition we were all so proud to be part of.' Andy Gregory

The 1946 Indomitables won the three Test series in Australia with two victories and a draw - an unbeaten record that has never been repeated - and remain Britain's most successful rugby league tourists. Lavishly illustrated with over 300 photographs, The Indomitables is the most comprehensive and authoritative account of the 1946 tour that made sporting legends of the 15 Englishmen and 11 Welshmen (including the captain, Gus Risman) who created sporting history and won the respect of the Australian nation. These were The Indomitables - and this is their sensational story.
