Welcome to It’s Up to You, the companion book to Change Your Mind and Your Life Will Follow. It’s Up to You grew out of discussions with a number of people about how to take the ideas presented in Change Your Mind and apply them, incrementally, a week at a time. There are twelve weeks’ worth of messages, two for each day of the week—one for the morning and one to close the day—based on the specific principles contained in each of the twelve chapters. My own journey in Twelve Step rooms has taught me that all change is incremental. I have also learned that the willingness to change is the necessary first step anyone must take, or nothing changes at all. No one turns to a book like this one, or its companion book, unless they have felt blocked by old behavior patterns. The good news is, you have already shown your willingness to try something different. I am convinced because of the miracles that have happened in my own life that miracles will happen for you too. The shift in our way of thinking, a shift that makes everything more joyful and peaceful, can’t be avoided when we begin to apply the principles contained in this little book. Even applying one principle occasionally benefits us in ways we’d not imagined possible. When taken one day at a time, one week at a time, life will become different. It will be more manageable, more productive, more purposeful. It will be more hopeful. And it will be more peaceful. That’s a promise I can safely make. Now it’s time to begin. You may want to keep a notebook or journal to record your thoughts about the daily messages. Enjoy every step of the way. This is a journey you will treasure because of its simplicity, and it’s one that will affect you for the rest of your life.
