Biographical note

Carlos Rocha has a Master's in Genetics and Molecular Biology, a PhD in Cell Biology, and a Post Doctorate degree in the sector of Biotechnological Products and Processes Linked to Human or Animal Health, working in the prospection of natural products with anti-cancer activity isolated from marine invertebrates and associated microorganisms. He is Full Professor at the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Pará (Brazil), where he teaches Genetics, Evolution, Aquatic Biology, and Technological Prospecting. His research focuses mainly on Environmental Mutagenesis. He is the author or co-author of dozens of articles in scientific journals and has also published three books in Portuguese: Ambiente: ecologia para a escola básica (Environment: ecology for basic school); As pernas do caranguejo: cancer crura (The Crab's Legs: cancer crura); Biodiversidade: genes, espécies, ecossistemas (Biodiversity: genes, species, ecosystems).
