This book addresses the interconnection between linguistics and pragmatics, proposing new theoretical approaches to linguistic issues relevant to discourse analysis, communication, and rhetoric, such as implicatures, temporal ordering, implicit constituents, presupposition, polysemy, and the strategic use of pronouns.
