JOHN CORBETT is Full Professor of English Studies at the University of Macau. Formerly in the department of English Language at Glasgow University, UK, he directed the Scottish Corpus of Texts and Speech and the Corpus of Modern Scottish Writing.He is the co-author ofBeginning Old English with Carole Hough (Palgrave, 2006) and has written widely on language and education.
