As we approach the referendum on Britain's membership of the European Union, voters are deluged with information about the pros and cons of membership, swayed by the histrionics of politicians and the press on both sides of the debate. Lacking, though, is any clear sense of what the European Union is and what it does. This short book provides an easily digestible summary of how the European Union works and how it has impacted on the economic, social and political life of its member states, giving anyone who wants to make an informed choice in the referendum, the tools with which to do so. The vote will be about the way we are governed and the laws made in our names - this book will help you decide.
